The fault analysis and evaluation of fault voltage and current in the power system network is very important for a stable and reliable operation of the power system. In the present paper, a study of various reasons for faults in a real grid is carried out and various methods of localizing the fault are also discussed. All the analyses of the faults have being performed on the real grid of 22KV of Roha town feeder. The data of last three years including parameters like time of faults, maximum downtime, voltage before and after the fault, current before and after the fault, power before and after the fault are considered for the analysis. The study undertaken herewith is an attempt to develop a methodology and framework for achieving better and reliable energy supply
