Communication Interfaces, Protocols, and Specialized Time Series Databases for the Internet of Things (IoT) – Survey

The aim of this review is to systematize the main communication interfaces, protocols, and specialized databases for storing temporal information and records used for storing data and signals from IoT, thereby facilitating new IoT application developers. The review examines classical methods of communication for connected devices in the industry and the evolution of communication protocols and interfaces that support the widespread adoption of IoT today.
Целта на обзора е да систематизира основни комуникационни интерфейси, протоколи и специализирани бази данни за съхраняване на темпорална информация и записи, използвани за съхраняване на данни и сигнали от IoT, като така да улесни разработчиците на нови IoT приложения. Разгледани са класическите методи за комуникация на свързани устройства в индустрията и еволюцията на комуникационните протоколи и интерфейси подпомагащи масовото внедряване на IoT.
